Meet TTS Scholar Ella Partanen, Class of 2022-23
Ella is a junior studying acting at the University of Oklahoma. Living in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Ecuador before moving to the U.S. sparked her curiosity and passion for social justice and international relations. Ella has taken courses in women and gender studies, global politics, Spanish, and Arabic.
She hopes to bring about social and political change through fine arts. “I have a few projects I plan on undertaking in the close future, such as translating plays and writing scripts for and acting in short films, but in the long term, I hope to be a working actor.” After graduation in a couple years, Ella will stay in the U.S. to work and possibly earn a master’s degree in arts management or acting.
Ella has been enjoying networking with fellow TTS scholars and is grateful for TTS’ support. “The inspiring community of scholars completing degrees in vastly different areas of study compelled me to apply to Thanks to Scandinavia. Getting to be a part of this year’s New Scholar Weekend was an incredible opportunity to meet and connect with this year’s scholars!”
